"BAUMAN, JAMES, 18, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bauman. He is a water safety instructor in the seabees and he is stationed at Davisville, R.I., at camp Endiscott. He enlisted in the navy July 18, 1942, leaving for Camp Peary, Williamsburg, Va., July 22 for his basic training. He received advanced training at Camp Endicott. He is a graduate of Anadarko High School with the class of 1943, where he was active in football and athletics."

James Irven Bauman
Funeral services for James Bauman, 81, of Chickasha will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Southern Oaks Church of Christ.
James Irven Bauman was born August 2, 1925, in Anadarko , Oklahoma , the son of George and Lottie (Thompson) Bauman. He died Friday, January 5, 2007, in Chickasha .
He grew up in Anadarko, where he attended Anadarko Public Schools and graduated from Anadarko High School . After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy, serving from July 17, 1943 to February 7, 1952. He proudly served his country, during WWII and Korea . He made many accomplishments throughout his military career.
James married the love of his life, Patsy Ruth Cox on June 30, 1946, in Anadarko , Oklahoma . They had 60 wonderful years together.
Upon his military discharge, his family made their home in Chickasha where he owned and operated Bauman's Grocery, Dutchmade Candy, and Bauman Buick. He made and enjoyed the many friendships he made throughout his career.
He was a member and Governor of American Business Club, a Chickasha City Councilman, and an Elder of Sixteenth and Florida Church of Christ and The Southern Oaks Church of Christ for 40 years.
James was preceded in death by both parents and brother, Robert Bauman.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law: Judy and Wayne Carter and Robyn and Perry English; son and daughter-in-law: Phil and Vicki Bauman; sister, Betty Brewer; brother, Don Bauman; sister-in-law, Betty Bauman; three granddaughters: Tricia Guerrero, Traci Carter, and Abby Bauman; three grandsons: Nathan Bauman, Raun English, and Keenan English; five great grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko , Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
